'Tis The Season!

From Google

As always, December has come around quicker than you'd expect and Christmas Day has been and gone already. Usually I'd spend the day with family, opening presents, stuffing my face and drinking a little too much though not actually getting drunk.
Christmas is the only time of year that you can get away with drinking from when you wake up until you fall asleep. It's that time of year where diets go out of the window and you eat everything and anything you want. It's also one of the only times of the year where I actually eat a lot of food. Usually I'd have one small-ish meal and maybe some snacks through the day but at Christmas, I can eat so much and I honestly don't know why.

This year saw the first year where I spent the day with my fiance, Joshy. Now, we've spent a few Christmas' seeing each other but this year, it was just us... Which meant the role of Christmas Dinner chief fell to me.
To say I was nervous would be an understatement. I've never cooked a Sunday dinner by myself, never mind a Christmas dinner and half of the stuff I had to cook, I'd never attempted before... Turkey, roast potatoes, parsnips, sprouts, stuffin...
I'm a very sentimental person which means when it gets to holidays like Christmas and birthdays, I want it to be special and go right.
My mum gave me some tips and tricks and I'll be honest, I think I did a good job! The turkey wasn't dry in the slightest, the roasties and veg were cooked well and it all tasted really good!

We opened presents in the morning, ate dinner later on, pulled some crackers and the rest of the time we drank, played games (not just video games but the classic 'who am I' game) and chilled out. I think the day was pretty much a success!

I got some great gifts like my record player/vinyl's from my parents, a new phone from my fiance and other bits and bobs and I love them all!

My Presents

So thank you to all who sent us gifts, money, cards or just simply wished us a Merry Christmas.
I hope everybody had a fantastic day and I wish you all a very Happy New Year!
